Grivel (established 1818) has been making carabiners for some time Recently, they introduced a completely modern and ultra-light new line.

These new Grivel carabiners are made from 7000-series aluminium. It offers the best balance between weight, breaking strength and durability. Grivel carabiners are forged using the same technology which they we use when they manufacture ice axes.

Further more, each carabiner is individually strength tested and has its individual test number laser carved on it (see video below).
